An Enhanced Canadian Criminal Record Check is completed before any cleaner enters a client's home, with no exceptions. Identity is verified through OneID, which authenticates government-issued ID documents against a selfie taken at the time of verification. Every applicant also provides at least two prior client or employer references, and we call all of them.
Yes — two layers of coverage. Every cleaner is required to carry their own commercial general liability insurance with minimum $2 million coverage; Houmse collects each certificate before activation, verifies it's active, and tracks the expiry date. Houmse Inc. also carries its own $2 million commercial general liability policy (Northbridge Insurance) plus crime coverage that applies to every booking made through the platform.
Yes — reschedule or cancel free of charge when you give us advance notice. Late changes may incur a small fee to cover your cleaner's time; the exact timing is set out in our cancellation policy.
It's rare, but accidents happen. Houmse is fully insured, so if any damage occurs during a clean, we cover it. Just let us know and we'll handle the rest.
Not at all. Most of our clients give us access instructions (door code, key drop, concierge note) and come back to a clean home. It's totally up to you.
Yes. You can move between weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly anytime — just let us know and we'll adjust your recurring schedule and your per-visit price.
Yes. You can skip or move an upcoming visit — let us know ahead of time and we'll reschedule it. Timing for changes to an already-booked visit follows our cancellation policy.
There's no fixed-term contract. Recurring cleaning continues on the schedule you choose, and you can change the frequency or stop future visits. The standard booking terms apply to each individual visit.
