Booking a cleaning with Houmse is free. No payment is taken upfront — your card is saved securely at booking and only charged after a clean is completed, or if a late cancellation or no-show fee applies. This page explains how cancelling or rescheduling works.

How to cancel or reschedule

You can cancel or reschedule your appointment by contacting Houmse through the contact page, or by using the link in your booking confirmation email. Include your name, address, and appointment date so your booking can be found quickly.

Changes take effect once Houmse confirms them. If you're rescheduling, you'll receive a new appointment window before your original one is released.

Free cancellation window

Cancelling or rescheduling 24 hours or more before your scheduled appointment time is free. No fee is charged to your card, and no reason is required.

Late cancellation / no-show fee

Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice, or not being available for the appointment (a no-show), results in a fee charged to the card on file.

The fee is $30 CAD flat, or 50% of the service price, whichever is less. This fee applies whether the cancellation happens the night before, the morning of, or at the door.

If we need to cancel or reschedule

If Houmse cancels or reschedules your appointment — for example, if your assigned cleaner becomes unavailable — you are never charged. You'll be notified as soon as possible and offered a new appointment time or a different cleaner.

How refunds work

Because no payment is taken upfront, there's typically nothing to refund if you cancel within the free window: your card is simply never charged. If a late cancellation or no-show fee applies, that fee is charged to the saved card after the missed appointment, once the fee is confirmed.

If you completed a clean and believe a charge is incorrect, or you want to dispute a fee, contact support and Houmse will review the charge against your booking record.
